CED publishes 2014 annual report


On 4 June 2015, the CED published its annual report for 2014. Entitled “CED in an election year”, the report summarises CED activities in the context of European Parliament elections and of the new European Commission. Political resolutions adopted in 2014 and the achievements of CED working groups and task forces are also presented.

CED AND IDF EUROPE CELEBRATE EUROPEAN ORAL HEALTH DAY: ORAL HEALTH AND DIABETES


On the occasion of the European Oral Health Day, the two organisations stress that diabetes mellitus is a disease with concomitant oral manifestations that impact dental care. It is often associated with periodontal disease and studies revealed a significantly greater rate of progression of periodontal disease among people with diabetes, compared with those without.

CED General Meeting in Athens adopts policy on vocational training, antimicrobial resistance and online evaluations of dentists, decides on the theme of the European Oral Health Day 2014


During the CED General Meeting on 23 and 24 May 2014 in Athens, Greece, CED Members adopted resolutions on vocational training, antimicrobial resistance and online evaluations of dentists, and decided that the theme of the European Oral Health Day on 12 September 2014 will be ‘Oral health and diabetes’.

CED General Meeting in Brussels re-elects Board of Directors, updates policy on dental amalgam, welcomes adoption of Professional Qualifications Directive


During the CED General Meeting on 22 November 2013, CED Members re-elected the CED Treasurer and three Directors, adopted a CED Position on the Minamata Convention concerning dental amalgam, updated CED Resolutions on responsible practice and on dental amalgam and welcomed the final adoption of the revised Professional Qualifications Directive.

CED General Meeting in Brussels adopts eHealth policy, calls for responsible decisions on dental amalgam, supports changes to Professional Qualifications Directive

Survey on undesirable effects caused by tooth whitening or bleaching products


The CED is carrying out an annual survey to report to the European Commission on the undesirable effects caused by tooth whitening or bleaching products observed by dentists or reported by patients themselves. Joint statement of the European sectoral professions on Directive 2005/36/EC
